Part Time Jobs in London

If you are a student, an adult, or a worker returning to the workforce, you might be surprised to learn that this is actually a very good time to be looking for a Part Time Job in London. This is because there are more opportunities available in the part time job market than you would expect. Whilst the newspapers are full of doom and gloom about the credit crunch and many employers are reducing their full-time workforce the fact remains that there are still excellent opportunities for Part Time employees, and for good reason.

  • Part Time Employers cost an Employer Less – They are very cost effective for an Employer as they have different rights to full time employees when it comes to paid holidays, National Insurtance Contributions, Pensions, Redundancy Pay, Healthcare etc…
  • Whilst the business or economy is in a downturn it is an excellent time to bring in some fresh, hungry young graduates or interns, with modest salary expectations, and train them up in readiness for economic recovery. The downturn will not go on for ever and companies who are ready for the turnaround will reap the rewards.
  • Part Time Employees can often be more flexible than full-time employees with regard to changing hours, job roles etc…

Even though the Newspapers and Media are painting a pretty gloomy picture for the jobs market at the moment, this particular cloud does at least have a little glimmer of a silver lining if you know where to look, even the Banks are hiring young Britons to prepare for the upturn.
